Foundations of Headstand

This class is for intermediate level or experienced yoga students who would like to explore new ways of coming into headstand or to refine their practice of this wonderful pose. We build the strength and technique required to establish a firm foundation that safely supports the neck and hence, the entire body. You will need a block, strap, sock and a sturdy chair. Please be aware that your safety is your own responsibility; do not attempt any practice in this video that your body does not feel ready for.

Space to Breathe

In this mini-class we aim to promote expansiveness of the chest and the lungs within it. We bring life to the thoracic spine and other areas linked to the breath using movement and self massage. You will need a a bolster, rubber ball, and partially inflated small pilates ball or plastic ball. Blankets and cushions can also work.

Towards shoulderstand

In this intermediate level class we free up the front of the chest and engage the back of the body with various movements and poses in preparation for shoulderstand. We also explore methods of entering shoulderstand gently, with a spine that is alive and supported by the involvement of the entire body.

Soothe your Lower Back
